This catalogue arose from the first exhibition held in 1986 in the Casa do Infante [Henry the Navigator´s House], Porto, on the work of the architect José Marques da Silva. The initiative was promoted by the northern regional section of the Association of Portuguese Architects and by the architects Maria José Marques da Silva and David Moreira da Silva. The research and catalogue preparation were undertaken by Professor António Cardoso of the Faculty of Letters, University of Porto (FLUP). The planning and mounting of the exhibition were carried out by the architect Nuno Jennings Tasso de Sousa.
