The question of the search for rationality and new teaching methods, evident in the designs for high schools proposed by Ventura Terra and Marques da Silva, and Marques da Silva´s evolution of thought from an academic study to the development of the design for the Alexandre Herculano High School, were reflected on and supplemented by the presentation of the renovation project currently taking place, designed by Alexandre Alves Costa and Sergio Fernandez.
